President's Volunteer Service Award

Parents, do you and your children enjoy helping others volunteering in community projects? If so, then are you aware that you may qualify for a special award from the President of the United States? In 2002, President Bush challenged all Americans to service. You can read all about it at www.presidentialserviceawards.gov. Creekside Academy is a certifying organization and you can obtain the award through us. Simply log your dates and hours of service with each organization you choose. Then have a supervisor sign off on your log to verify your hours. Turn it into Marnie Tabor at Creekside Academy with $2.00 for postage and you will receive your awards. We are going to log hours from April 1, 2008 to the end of March 2009. This way, we can submit our hours in time to get the awards by the end of the school year. If you have any questions about what can count as volunteer time, please feel free to ask. Sometimes things we wouldn't think of can be very important. Things like participating in a play or helping during VBS at church are just a couple of examples. This award also looks very good on college entrance applications for high school students. So, get those recording forms ready and start tracking your hours. For more information, contact Marnie Tabor at marketabor@bellsouth.net
